If you are the owner of a factory of any industry, storage must be of high concern. All materials, which are going to be used for the production, must be stored in such a manner that a proper accounting of all available stock can be done at anytime. Mainly, high-rise vertical iron-racks are used for this purpose, where a particular item is kept at a fixed location. The person in charge of the store should look after this process, so that things are kept in the right place. Previously, in any office, raw data or information used to be stored manually in forms and files. Today we observe a lot of changes in the office where computer is the major source of storing all kinds of information. This has created a huge requirement for different types of storage media, which could be a hard disk of enormous data-storing capacity, or it could be any external device like CD-ROM, floppy-discs, pen drives etc. Day to day scientific inventions and research works are bringing out much more sophisticated devices, to create more and more space for storing data.

Even God gifted natural resources are being tapped and stored so that they can be used later on. Rainwater is one of them, which can be stored in underground tanks so that it can be used in summer time, especially in desert area. During monsoon, most of the rivers get flooded. By constructing dams across the rivers, this enormous amount of water can be stored, which will be of great use for irrigation in lands for agricultural purpose. Thus, the regular monsoon-flooding can also be stopped. Another important natural resource is natural gas, which can also be stored in various gas storage options, for future use.
