Expat life may depend a lot on personal qualities, performance, talents and education, but the country itself (with all its aspects) consists a major issue in the quality of an expat's life.
Gibraltar is an overseas territory belonging to Britain. It is situated in the South of the Iberian Peninsula and shares a border with Spain to the North.
It shelters a Royal Navy base and in the past it has been a land of great dispute between Spain and Britain.

Stability and prosperity are one of the most important aspects that concern an expat in Gibraltar, and those two rank high. During a research and analysis by “Jane's Country Risk” Gibraltar ranked 5th position overall, being the top stable and prosperous British territory. Thus, Gibraltar is a great country for any expat, providing stable employment, a prosperous environment for work and living and top league medical services; all these due to Britain's overlook.

The official language in Gibraltar is English, yet Spanish or Latino is the unofficial spoken language. The ethnic groups are varied and mixed – Gibraltarian, British, Indian and Moroccan. This variety is great for any expat in Gibraltar, even for people being previously expats in Britain The mixed community provides a large area of jobs and social integration. All these despite the relatively reduced size of the country – just 6.8 km2 surface and a population of 28,875 people.

The high degree of safety, stability and prosperity creates a great environment for expats but also the reduced population and physical resources may consist a downside for an expat in Gibraltar. Altough, Gibraltar is after all a territory belonging to Britain. This guaranties a great medium of development for everyone. Also the ethnic variety and employment need contributes to the well-being, quality and accomplishment in the life of any expat in Gibraltar.
