The third step towards wine tasting is the fragrance of the wine. Researches state that 75% of the taste is based on the first smell of the item. While smelling, first a small whiff should be taken followed by a deeper one. Then some time should be taken to analyze the smell. This gives a complete idea of the fragrance of that particular wine. Next is the taste of wine. It is also done in three steps- first a small amount is tasted to awaken the taste buds of the tongue. Then the next drink makes the mouth feel about the taste whether it is hard or not, smooth or harsh. Lastly the aftertaste gives a complete taste of the beverage, whether it is pleasant.
