As experience will tell it, hemorrhoids is something that should be taken seriously. It can be discomforting and embarrassing knowing that you have hemorrhoids. In general, the mild form of the condition will naturally heal but often times people find the need to discover henorrhoids treatment.

As many of us already know, hemorrhoids involves the swelling of blood vessels in the rectum which is aggravated by constipation. In order to get rid of hemorrhoids, you need to treat constipation. Most doctors suggest taking huge amount of fibers and drinking lots of water to soften the stool to lessen the irritation caused by the hemorrhoids.

Aside from increasing fiber intake, there are several over-the-counter medicines for hemorrhoids. There are several brands of anti-inflammatory pads and wipes that are available in local pharmacies. The pads are directly applied to the swelling area in order to get quick relief from discomfort.

Likewise, anti-inflammatory agents can be purchased as an ointment. The aim of the product is to lessen the swelling and get rid of the heat from the affected area.

For those who are looking for herbal medicines that will treat their hemorrhoids, aloe vera can be an alternative. Gel from the plant is applied to the affected area. Pre-packaged aloe is effective as well.

Another popular herbal medicine for treating hemorrhoids is rose hip tea. This product is designed to eliminate the swelling inside and to relax the patient so that they would feel relieved.

In addition, taking warm baths for about 15 minutes two times daily is also effective in easing the discomfort and hastening of relief of people suffering from hemorrhoids.

Contemporary medicine has paved the way for the development of a cold-applicator in getting rid of hemorrhoids. The device is directly applied to the hemorrhoids in order to reduce the pain and swelling.

Like surgery, cold applicators are designed for severe hemorrhoids and is usually the last resort.

In the past, surgical procedures were used for extreme cases of hemorrhoids or when the condition does not heal by itself. At the moment, surgery is only resorted to when all other forms of treatment have failed to reduce the hemorrhoids.

As in the case of other illnesses, doctors always suggest that prevention is still better than treating hemorrhoids. However, this may not always be true as hemorrhoids may also be hereditary. The best method is to take fiber-rich food and drink lots of fluids to prevent constipation.
