Is Your Business To Business Communication Effective?

No matter what type of business you have, your clients and customers are what keep it going. That’s why you need to do everything you can to make sure you keep in touch with them and let them know you are there to help.

Sometimes a simple email will suffice in this respect. Other times you can pick up the phone and speak to a client about an ongoing job. But sometimes it is necessary to meet face to face, and this is where things can start to get expensive.

For example, let’s suppose your business is based in London and the client you need to see is in Scotland. That meeting is going to take a lot of time out of your schedule from start to finish. First of all you will need to get travel arrangements sorted out, and there is no way you would be able to go there and back in a day unless you went by plane. That could in turn mean more expense in terms of accommodation. Overall it adds up to a lot of lost time, even if you can multi-task and get some other jobs done during your travelling time.

But there is a much cheaper alternative that more and more businesses are starting to use. In fact this is more than just cheap – it’s completely free. What’s more it doesn’t involve leaving your office either.

This is made possible by talking to other people via your computer. So long as you both have the same facility in place to make it happen, you can pre-arrange a time to get together and then have your meeting without leaving your office chair.

Not only is this cost effective with regards to time, it also enables you to invite other business partners into the conversation, without any additional hassle. And if your business operates over more than one location, a conference can easily be arranged over the internet to enable everyone to get together at a pre-determined time.

The reason why this is such a good idea is because it makes much better use of your time and your resources. You may still need to arrange a face-to-face meeting at some point, but for the majority of the time free conference calls are far more useful and more productive.

You can of course use video calling as well to further enhance the experience for everyone involved. As more businesses get on board with this type of internet communication, it will have more of a pleasant side effect too – and that’s less demand on the environment as more people go green by not travelling quite so much.

So is your business up to it yet? If you haven’t tried conference calls yet, there has never been a better time to try.
