In these days of super efficiency, support workers who are able to solve problems with computers and networks, and give constant solutions to users, are hugely valuable in all areas of the business environment. Because of the multifaceted levels of technology, growing numbers of qualified workers are needed to run the various different areas we need to be sure will work effectively.

For the most part, a normal student doesn't have a clue how they should get into Information Technology, or even what area they should look at getting trained in. How likely is it for us to understand what is involved in a particular job when it's an alien environment to us? Maybe we don't even know anybody who does that actual job anyway. The key to answering this quandary correctly comes from an in-depth discussion of several areas:

* Which type of individual you consider yourself to be - which things you enjoy doing, plus of course - what don't you like doing.

* Is it your desire to pull off a closely held aim - for example, working from home someday?

* How highly do you rate salary - is it the most important thing, or does job satisfaction rate a little higher on your priority-list?

* With so many different sectors to gain certifications for in computing - it's wise to pick up a basic understanding of what differentiates them.

* Taking a serious look into the effort, commitment and time you'll make available.

In actuaure; incredibly so.

A usual IT employee throughout Britain can demonstrate that they earn significantly more money than fellow workers outside of IT. Average wages are amongst the highest in the country. The requirement for certified IT specialists is guaranteed for a good while yet, because of the substantial growth in this sector and the massive shortage still in existence.

Consider the following points very carefully if you're inclined to think the sales ploy of examination guarantees seems like a good idea:

Everyone knows they're still being charged for it - obviously it has already in the overall price charged by the college. Certainly, it's not a freebie - don't think these companies are so generous with their money! Passing first time is everyone's goal. Taking your exams progressively when it's appropriate and funding them as you go has a marked effect on pass-rates - you take it seriously and are conscious of what you've spent.

Isn't it in your interests to hold on to your money and pay for the exam at the time, not to pay any mark-up to the training college, and to do it in a local testing office - rather than in some remote centre? Paying upfront for examination fees (and if you're financing your study there'll be interest on that) is a false economy. Don't line companies bank accounts with extra money of yours just to give them more interest! A lot bank on the fact that you will never make it to exams - then they'll keep the extra money. Additionally, many exam guarantees are worthless. The majority of organisations will not pay again for an exam until you've completely satisfied them that you're ready this time.

Due to typical VUE and Prometric tests coming in at approximately 112 pounds in Great Britain, the most cost-effective way to cover the cost is by paying when you need them. Not to fork out thousands extra in up-front costs. A commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools are actually the key to your success.

It's likely that you're quite practically minded - a 'hands-on' type. If you're anything like us, the unfortunate chore of reading reference guides can be just about bared when essential, but it doesn't suit your way of doing things. So look for on-screen interactive learning packages if book-based learning really isn't your style. Many studies have proved that we remember much more when we use all our senses, and we put into practice what we've been studying.

Top of the range study programs now offer interactive CD and DVD ROM's. By watching and listening to instructors on video tutorials you'll learn your subject by way of the demonstrations and explanations. Knowledge can then be tested by utilising the practice lab's and modules. You'll definitely want a training material demonstration from your training provider. You should ask for demo's from instructors, slideshows and virtual practice lab's for your new skills.

Some companies only have access to training that is purely available online; while you can get away with this much of the time, think what will happen if internet access is lost or you get slow speeds and down-time etc. A safer solution is the provision of physical CD or DVD discs that don't suffer from these broadband issues.
