There are literally hundreds of celebrities that have tattoos on their body. In fact, these people that we often see in magazine, on television and on the silver screen somehow influence a lot of people to discover and look closer to the art of tattoo. Each tattoo on their body symbolizes something personal. Most celebrity tattoos would put names of their loved ones on their body, especially celebrity couples.

Butterfly tattoos are famous among celebrities. Because they symbolize freedom, rebirth and transformation, a lot of people find them special. Butterfly tattoos are also naturally attractive because of their beautiful colors. You can wear them big or small, and they would still look amazing. Actress Drew Barrymore has one under her belly button. Mariah Carey, with her hit single Butterfly, sport a butterfly tattoo on her lower back. Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has a very cute small butterfly tattoo on her back. Pop princess Britney Spears has one her left foot. Country singer, although quite old for a tattoo, still had her butterfly chest tattoo.

Lower back tattoos are also popular among celebrities. Teen actress Lindsay Lohan has one tattooed on her back that said 'La Bella Vita" or the good life. Celebrity couple David and Victoria Beckham also sport lower back tattoos. On David, the name Brooklyn, the name of his son and on Victoria, 5 stars that stands for five of her family members. Spice Girl Geri Haliwel has a unique tattoo of a black panther and late Aaliyah has a dove tattoo on her back. Angelina Jolie has tones of them including a tribal tattoo, a Bengal tiger, a blue window and a dragon.

Celebrity singers are a big fan of body art. Robbie Williams has 14 of them, and counting! He sports religious tattoos- a Celtic cross and a Christian cross. He also has an image of the king of the jungle, the lion. Tribal designs can also be seen on his body including a Maori tribal tattoo. He has also has the eye of Horus, two swallows, a tattoo in tribute to the Beatles and some word tattoos.

Hot actress Angelina Jolie, may probably be the queen of tattoo in Hollywood. She has over a dozen of them on her body. Angelina also has one of those name tattoos. She got her ex-husband's name tattooed on her upper arm and later had it removed when they split up. Same fate happened to actor Johnny Depp when he tattooed "Winona Forever" on his upper arm. After he broke up with Winona Ryder, he then changed his tattoo to "Wino Forever". Johnny Depp also has tattoos to honor his mother and daughter. He also has a skull and the phrase 'death is certain' on his ankle.

One cardinal rule on sporting a tattoo, you might want to go with images instead of names, especially if it is your partner's name. A lot of things can happen and some relationships do go bad. Tattoo removal, aside from being expensive, can be really painful too.

Just like fashion, people tend to follow the trend that celebrities wore. And if they begin to wear tattoos, flash and display them publicly, then you would be assured that some people would emulate them. Celebrities have been trendsetters in a lot of ways.
