The location of this hotel is probably in the best are of the town of Bohinj. It overlooks the beautiful lake, offering a breathtaking view. It is also situated close to the church, the tourist resource centre, the bridge and a large number of cafes and shops. It also proudly displays a beautiful garden with breathtaking views of the mountains.

The furniture too adds to the beauty of the entire setting. If you are lucky enough to have a room on the ground floor, you might even have a quaint little balcony which overflows into the garden and has its own furniture for your private use.

The staffs of this hotel too are friendly and welcoming. They know their business. A friend of mine travelled there and even received a bottle of wine for his spouse’s birthday. Neither he nor his wife had mentioned it, but the staff had figured it out from their passport details and had provided them with the wine to make it a special day. They even volunteer to check out the weather conditions for you if you are on a skiing expedition. The concierge can arrange the details, if you prefer them to.

The biggest flaw of the hotel is its food. It is, to put it mildly, definitely not up to the mark. The hotel is not equipped with its own kitchen and they provide food from an establishment located about three miles away; the food is cold and hard. What is more, the choice is also very, very limited. The breakfast buffet is not even worth the modest price that one needs to pay for it. There is an appetizing choice of fruit and cereals. An acquaintance of mine who had visited the establishment mentioned that there was only one toaster, which took about ten minutes produce a toasted slice of bread! Moreover, the décor of the “restaurant” is quite sub-standard.

The Hotel even has two tennis courts for you to relax and unwind. It is a great hotel because it is more than well-equipped to protect travelers from the biting cold outside, temperatures as low as minus fifteen degrees are not uncommon in Bohinj! One can also avail of the sauna and the massaging facilities offered in this hotel in order to relax, making Bohinj a complete tourist destination, with winter sports, relaxation therapies and plenty of natural beauty to absorb. The hotel is moderately priced and getting a suite does not cost much more than the room. Do put up at Hotel Bohinj when you visit Lake Bohinj!
