The Kokoda track is a demanding 96 kilometre long trail full of steep climbs and knee-wrenching descents.
It can cause blisters on your feet inside your shoes and pull a muscle or two. The track excites Australians who like it physically challenging and like to spend their time in the middle of nature’s wonders.

The track can start from the Ower’s Corner in the Central Province or it can begin from Kokoda to Ower’s Corner. Although one can walk in either direction, it is considered easier by some from Kokoda to Ower’s Corner.

The track can span from four to twelve days. The duration of the track is directly relative your fitness levels and the frequency of rest time you avail in between. Though the trek is open throughout the year, it is suggested to visit it during the non-rainy season, between April and September.

Nowadays, the track also includes watching local life attending to their day-to-day work. Now the trail has numerous guesthouses along the way, including traditional rest places inside the villages.
