YouTube Remixer

It's been a few days now since YouTube Remixer was launched and I'm sure you already had a taste of it. At first glance it seems like a good idea to add a video editor to a video sharing site. It even has some interesting functions. I'm not saying it's bad, but the interface is dull and gray, all left-aligned and somewhat uninspiring.
If you get over that, the functions provided are interesting for the casual YouTube uploader. As a downside there aren't enough presets you can use. If you're a regular user and you choose to edit your movies using the Remixer, that means you can't use professional, more complicated applications to create evolved visual effects.

On the other hand it was about time to implement an application like this, Photobucket for example has a Remix tool for a while now. Both editing tools are powered by Adobe Premiere Express Technology, and it accepts all sort of audio, graphic and text overlays, transitions, etc.

So the YouTube Remixer will probably keep users a little longer on the website, but I really hope it will get nicer when it gets out of the Beta phase.
